Adidas
Adidas are the original sports shoe. Adi Dassler began producing hand-sewn shoes from his mother’s laundry business in the small German town of Herzogenaurach in 1920. He convinced his brother, Rudolf Dassler, to join him and the two began selling the shoes developed by Adi. A feud between the brothers caused them to split in 1948 with Adi founding a separate company know as Adidas and his brother founding Puma on the other side of town. Adi’s passion for creating the optimal footwear for athletes fueled Adidas towards success. Adidas scored when they provided footwear for the West German soccer team’s unexpected underdog victory against Hungary in the 1954 World Cup. From that critical sponsorship Adidas gained international attention and the company took their first steps toward becoming a global brand. The popularity of Adidas remains strong because of the brand’s passion for creating the highest quality product.
They knew then and they know now. Adidas are one of the most recognizable brands around the world for good reason. Adidas produces state-of-the-art footwear, apparel and sports equipment. Adidas are the perfect fit for anyone; from aspiring athletes to Olympic gold-medalists. From the Adidas Gazelle to the Adidas Superstar, the signature three stripes were established by Adidas in 1948 and continue to symbolize the Adidas brand world-wide. There’s nothing like knowing top athletes in soccer, tennis, rugby and basketball choose to wear the same brand you do. Among the many options for athletic footwear, Adidas remains at the top of the list.
